Profile
Katinka Bellomo is an Associate Professor of Climatology at the University of Padua. After earning a Ph.D. in Meteorology and Physical Oceanography from the University of Miami in 2015, she held postdoctoral positions at Columbia University, the National Research Council of Italy, and the Polytechnic University of Turin. She has received international awards and recognition, including a Marie Curie Fellowship funded by the European Union and the Feltrinelli Giovani Prize for Oceanography. Her research focuses on climate modeling and future projections, with particular attention to tipping point - sudden and drastic climate changes. She also studies extreme temperature and precipitation events and their implications for climate adaptation and resilience. Additionally, she applies machine learning techniques to analyze climate big data.
