Centro Interdisciplinare Linceo Giovani

The Centro Interdisciplinare Linceo Giovani (CILG) was established by the Accademia dei Lincei on 20 April 2023.

The CILG brings together the recipients of the Feltrinelli Giovani Prize, awarded to scholars under the age of forty who have achieved results of clear originality, autonomy and international relevance, thus contributing, also in the long term, to strengthening Italy's scientific role in the world. Its members, who number no more than sixty, come from different disciplines and can be part of the Centro for a period of six years, during which they undertake to promote research and the dissemination of knowledge.

The main purposes of the Centro are:

  • to foster scientific cooperation between young scholars engaged in different fields of research, with particular attention to interdisciplinarity and constructive dialogue between different scientific methods and approaches;
  • to promote initiatives in synergy with the scientific and cultural programme of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei and its standing committees;
  • to encourage the participation of young Italian researchers and academics in international networks, ensuring that Italy is represented in a dignified and equitable manner.

The members of the CILG meet regularly, both in person and online, and at least twice a year in plenary assembly, to exchange views on their current research projects and to plan and implement joint projects and publications.
