Profile
Raffaele Cucciniello (Avellino, September 5, 1986) is a Professor of Environmental Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry and Biology “Adolfo Zambelli” of the University of Salerno.
Prof. Cucciniello holds an internationally recognized position in the field of environmental chemistry research. His research focuses on green chemistry, a field developed in the late 1990s by Paul Anastas, with whom Prof. Cucciniello has collaborated.
Specifically, Prof. Cucciniello works on the valorization of biomass and waste biomass into high-value-added products, the degradation of environmental pollutants through catalytic processes employing non-toxic and abundant metal-based catalysts, life cycle analysis (LCA) and green metrics, green analytical chemistry, and the development of processes and products for water and wastewater treatment.
Regarding the latter, in 2021, Prof. Cucciniello founded an academic spin-off, AOP4WATER s.r.l.
