Profile

Fiorenzo Vincenzo is an astrophysicist at the University of Catania in Italy. He
obtained his PhD in Physics at the University of Trieste in 2017. He held positions at
the University of Hertfordshire (2017-2018) and the University of Birmingham (2019)
in the UK and at the Ohio State University in the US (2019-2021). Before coming
back to Italy to take up a post at the University of Catania, he worked as lecturer in
astrophysics at the University of Hull in the UK (2022-2025). His research activity is
mainly focused on the chemical evolution of galaxies and revolves around some of the
fundamental questions in the field of astronomy: what are the origins of the chemical
elements in the cosmos? What physical mechanisms determine the evolution of the
chemical abundances in the different stellar systems across cosmic times?
