Alfio Quarteroni was awarded the IACM Gauss–Newton Medal 2026, the highest award given by the Association for Computational Mechanics (IACM). It honors individuals who have made outstanding, sustained contributions in the field of computational mechanics over periods representing substantial portions of their professional careers
The ceremony was held during the 17th World Congress on Computational Mechanics (WCCM) and the 10th ECCOMAS Congress, held in Munich on 20 July 2026.
