Roberto Ragazzoni, Fellow of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei and President of INAF (Italian National Institute for Astrophysics), has been awarded the Gamow Medal by the Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University. Among the reasons for the recognition were his contributions to astrophysics and astronomical instrumentation, his research on adaptive optics, and his commitment to education and scientific cooperation between Italy and Ukraine. Award ceremonytook place during the XXVI Gamow International Astronomical Conference.
